Charemaine Seet

Charemaine Seet is the founder and director of Seet Dance. She is the main teacher at the school and designs the classes and programs of work for the students. Charemaine has devoted her life to dance and continues to create, perform and collaborate with dance artists in Australia and New York. Charemaine believes in lifelong learning. She annually attends workshops and training intensives in NYC as part of her ongoing research and education.

Michael Crewdson - Administrative Director

Michael is the ultimate dance fan, having been lucky enough to see Contemporary Dance greats like Merce Cunningham, Trisha Brown and Pina Bausch in their primes. Although he often says that the day to day experiences of being involved with Seet Dance are just as exciting.

Michael has been in charge of the management of the school for almost 10 years. He also contributes to our vast musical library through his personal research. He has a warm and friendly personality and is always responsive to students and their families. He is dedicated to helping provide the best of dance arts education to Sydney families.

Michael was born in Brooklyn, NY but now resides in Sydney. He is a writer and a dad.

He is the co-author of Carnivorous Nights - On the Trail of the Tasmanian Tiger, and Wild New York. He has written extensively about the natural world for publications in the USA.


Anna Kuroda - Associate Artist and teacher

Anna Kuroda is a choreographer, dancer and performance artist who works in Australia, Japan, and Europe.

While Kuroda is known for her dance and choreography, she is equally known for her magnetic and enthralling stage presence. She was a finalist in Japan’s most prestigious dance award—the 2016 Toyota Choreography Award. Anna is the co- founder of Murasaki Penguin which is an interdisciplinary collaboration between herself and Australian sound and multimedia artist David Kirkpatrick.

As a teacher, Anna is a calm and sensitive mentor for the students. She offers a wealth of knowledge in the area of performance, stage presence and professionalism. Anna is a regular performer in her own work, and in the work of other Australian choreographers.


Alia Ardon - Associate Filmmaker

Alia Ardon is a young filmmaker who’s work mainly focuses on the ways humans exchange across cultures, movements and/or histories. She has always been intrinsically intrigued by the moving body and image and subsequently; by dance. A student of Charemaine Seet's for 10 years, Alia has developed a sensitivity to creativity through her own body. It is with these tools that she applies herself to her films.

Xinyang Li - musician

Xinyang Li

Xinyang Li wearing a white top holding her pipa

Xinyang Li is a wonderful Pipa (Chinese Lute) soloist—the first to graduate from the Conservatory of Sydney as a student of the Chinese lute.

Xinyang has collaborated with Seet Dance students in improvisation and performance.

Xinyang is also a talented teacher and gives private lessons in Pipa to children in Sydney.
